Day 19
(This is for the weekend, March 25th and 26th)
We have reached the 4th weekend of Lent as we countdown days of intentional blessings toward Easter Sunday. Typically our weekends are crammed with “things to do,” but this weekend I’d like to propose some rest for you as an intentional blessing for yourself. When you are rested, you can continue to bless others.
A verse to ponder
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
An intentional blessing for the classroom (weekend)
Today, let’s begin to grasp an intentional blessing that God created for us – the Sabbath rest. He created the world in six days and rested on the seventh as a pattern of work for us. Working six days and resting one day seems so foreign in our society, but it is a gift from God that will bless your body, soul and spirit. One day on this weekend, turn off one of those devices and don’t do any of your ordinary work. Instead spend time with Him and that beautiful family He gave you.
A focus of reflection
Who created time? Can you imagine being able to control time? With man that is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. As the Creator of time, He also created the principle of rest. Be good to yourself this weekend and all weekends, by reflecting on how much time you spend working too much. The Sabbath principle of rest is for our good that we may be able to work even better by resting one day out of seven. It seems impossible that you can still get everything done by NOT working one day, but God’s principles always work.

(Teachers always work hard at planning, preparing, collaborating and delivering lessons.)
As always, I am prayerfully yours,
