Day 18
(For Monday, March 27th)
Don’t you wish the media would report good news items? We hear the sensational stories or the evil things that are happening in our communities, nation and world events. Not much is reported about the hundreds and thousands of good acts that are happening in our communities. You may be surprised how much good news there is in our students lives if you give them an opportunity to look for good news stories. It can change a culture of a school when we are all on the look out for good news stories.
A verse to ponder
Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.
An intentional blessing for the classroom
Do you have a time in your class when you share good news? As an act of intentional blessing, establish a time for your students to hear good news. Establish one of your bulletin boards or space in your wall for students to share good news or use one of your bell ringer topics to give the students an opportunity to share good news for a change. Make sharing good news a culture in your classroom regularly.
A focus of reflection
Can you tell good news stories in your classroom? Is it legal? Of course! Take a moment and listen to our own conversations today. Do we have a bent toward negativity or being positive? Let’s be intentional about sowing good news to our colleagues and students. Try to start conversations about good things that have happened to others. Give thanks to God in prayer for all He has done for us.
