Matthew 16-20

I will be posting a once a week reminder of what we are reading together on Around the Word in 180 Days. It is a privilege and an honor to serve educators in their busy schedule with a portion of the Word and prayer each day. These are our most powerful tools in education. No matter how many times you have read the Word, it seems to always shine a fresh new light on Jesus. He's incredible. I was particularly tickled by His instructions to pay the tax by having Peter go fishing, pull up the first fish, open its mouth and remove the coin for the tax. He's incredible, always full of surprises and our Savior. May You be blessed as you read the Word of God with other educators. You are not alone!

Around the Word in 180 days, an audio program, is designed for the community of educators in our schools across the nation each school day. The readings include a prayer of adoration, the Word of God , the 1:16PM Prayer prompt and the current CEAI's daily devotional. If you are on the web, you can click the reading in the right hand column or following the suggestions below. Thank you for being in community with us in prayer and in the Word of God.

Around the Word in 180 Days is hosted by Karen C. Seddon and brought to you ubiquitously (any time, any place and at any pace.) It can be found on:
May the words of our Lord bless you throughout the day and be the meditation of your heart.

Prayerfully dependent,
K

Matthew Chapters 11-15

My yoke is easy and My burden is light. What a gracious Lord we serve. I am so grateful to share in the Word of God with you. Thank you for reading and thank you for listening. I am a long time listener to Alistair Begg and he has often encouraged us to be the Word for everything. If you systematically read the Word your whole life, it will have the answer to every human dilemma, if you have ears to hear. Last week during the Holy Week we broke from our reading in Matthew, but today we continue in Matthew Chapters 11 - 15 . May You be blessed by the strong teaching of Jesus.

Holy Week - Good Friday - John 21

Do you love me? Do you love me? Do you love me? Jesus asked Peter three times and he grieved, but our Lord and Savior restored him. What a loving Savior we serve! May you and your family be blessed this Resurrection with the love of God and all that He has done for us. Thank you so much for reading the Word of God together. There is unity in community.

Holy Week - Thursday - John 20

I love how faithful Mary Magdelene is as she waits at the tomb and how impetus Peter is as he runs into the tomb. What a great part of history the reading of John 20 gives us as we read together today. May you be encouraged in your belief in the Lord and Savior and prepare for the celebration of His resurrection this Sunday.

Holy Week - Wednesday - John 19

Today in John Chapter 19, we share in the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. This outrageous love that He has for us in inexplicable. I can scarcely take it in. It's important to read it for ourselves, but it is unique to listen to the same passage in community. I hope you can join us today as we build up to Resurrection Sunday.

Holy Week - Tuesday - John 18

During Holy Week, we are taking a break from Matthew and diving into the narrative of the passion of Jesus through the Word of God. Today I have chosen John 18 to help the busy educator be reunited with the Holy Week events according to the Word of God. In today's reading, Jesus is arrested, interrogated and brought before Pilate. So profound.

I hope you can join us all week because there is unity in community.

Holy Week - Monday - John 13

During Holy Week, we are going to take a break from Matthew and dive into the narrative of the passion of Jesus through the narrative of the Word. I have chosen John 13, 18, 19, 20 and 21 for Holy Week to help the busy educator be reunited with the Holy Week events according to the Word of God. I love how Jesus gave us this admonition in John 13 today:

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35

I hope you can join us all week because there is unity in community. You are loved.

Matthew 10

"I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves." These area the words of Jesus in Matthew 10 today. Doesn't that describe who we are in the public schools? Most would tell you that you cannot be Christian in our public schools today, but instead, it is quite the opposite. We cannot afford to NOT be Christian in schools. We have been sent out to be Jesus with skin on to our students, colleagues, administrators and parents. May God grant you His abundant grace today to reflect Him in all you do.

Matthew 9

We think we are busy as educators. Listening and reading about all that Jesus did makes our busyness seem so insignificant. I love being in the Word with educators anywhere/everywhere. I pray that the Lord is pleased that we are joining together in unity to read/listen to His powerful words each school day. Will you encourage other educators to join us?

Matthew 8

Jesus performs many mighty miracles in Chapter 8 of Matthew. Come and read/listen with us today as we learn of his gracious heart and healing hands. I love how he always has an answer for those who doubt or for those who lack trust. May God bless you today with a heart of forgiveness and to be in prayer for our school counselors.
