Lent - Day 20 - The Goodness of the Lord

Dear Christian educators,

There are so many beautiful psalms and songs written about the goodness of God and it's no wonder. What a good, good God we serve. I'm sure you have a favorite song. Please share if you do. I can't claim the one below as my favorite, but it reminds me every time we sing it at church or at one of our events that He is good. I left you a link below so you can enjoy His goodness.

Each day during this season of Lent, I will post one verse and pray it with you. Consider saying the verse in your quiet time and praying it also. You may use the same prayer or try your own. Each day until Easter (except Sundays) there will be a new post that contains: a verse, a small reflection, a prayer using the Scripture and an image. Feel free to share the images because I made them with the Bible Lens app and took all the pictures. What a creative God we serve!

Day 20

Psalm 27:13 English Standard Version (ESV)

I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!

Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin

I've heard a thousand stories of what they think you're like
But I've heard the tender whispers of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you're pleased
And that I'm never alone
You're a good good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
I've seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we're all searching
For answers only you provide
'Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word
You're a good good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
Because you are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways

Songwriters: Anthony Brown / Joseph Patrick Martin Barrett

Dear Lord,

Your goodness is over us. You are always there for us. We look to Your goodness in the land of the living, in the here and now, not just in eternal life. We see the beauty of the students you have given us over the years and how incredibly unique You have made each and every one of them. Your goodness, Lord, sustains us and we sing to Your goodness. Lord, there is no one good, no not one but You. Please remind us and help us to see Your goodness in our personal and school lives each day. Thank You Lord. You are good! We proclaim Your goodness in the unmatched name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayerfully yours,
