Honor the Grads - Osceola

Christian Educators Association International (CEAI) held its 2nd annual Osceola County Honor the Grads event on Monday, May 15, 2017 at First Christian Church in Kissimmee, FL.  These honored graduates were chosen by their peers because they lived their Christ-like walk through their high school years.  Osceola County’s event was modeled after St. Johns County where they have a 20-year tradition of honoring their seniors.  Students at each high school were asked to nominate and select seniors who have boldly walked out their Christian faith over the course of their high school careers.  The groups represented Fellowship of Christian Athletes clubs that were active in our Osceola County high schools.  The following schools were represented:

Celebration High School

Jesus Rojas

Emily Molen

Gateway High School

Viviana Lara

Adam Espinosa

Harmony High School

Linsey Jean Cheney

Liberty High School

Mynaishka Domenech

Osceola High School

Lydia Crose

Jose Cuevas

St. Cloud High School

Helena Rodriguez

Brian Delgado

This prestigious award may be the most important award these students could ever receive. Each one graciously thanked CEAI, their parents and the many support systems of people that brought them to this point. They shared stories of being in Christian families and being in the faith since their youth, but a common thread for each was their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Some of their future plans include: University of South Florida, the Marines, becoming a pharmacist and the University of Central Florida.

Several of the honorees shared a favorite scripture which included:

All honorees blessed us with heartfelt messages that included leaving a "footprint" in life, knowing you are not alone in Christ, giving God the glory and the vision of revival in Osceola County.

All honorees received a medallion for graduation, a certificate and a $100 scholarship for their future plans. Congratulations to each honored graduate and their families.

A special thank you to Mr. Eric Dimmick, our Osceola County FCA representative.  Thank you also to Kissimmee First Christian Church for use of the beautiful facility and the tech support. Thank you to Eddie Cortes for guiding the program and Marshall Mabry for giving us a worshipful start with two beautiful songs. And thank you to God for this event and these Christ-loving seniors!

As always, I am prayerfully yours,
K
