Lent - Day 13 - Enter Into the Joy of the Master

Dear Christian educators,

Don't we all love this verse? Isn't it what we yearn for as a follower of Christ? Someday He will say to us, "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the JOY of your Master!" Oh dear friend, the call on your life to be an educator is no small thing. Oh faithful servant, you are faithful in all the little things. He will reward you in eternity with the big things.

Each day during this season of Lent, I will post one verse and pray it with you. Consider saying the verse in your quiet time and praying it also. You may use the same prayer or try your own. Each day until Easter (except Sundays) there will be a new post that contains: a verse, a small reflection, a prayer using the Scripture and an image. Feel free to share the images because I made them with the Bible Lens app and took all the pictures. What a creative God we serve!

Day 13

Matthew 25:23 English Standard Version (ESV)

23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

What are the little things you are faithful to in the school community? When you give your assignment your all, you are faithful. When your lessons take time and you don't give up, you are faithful. When you go out of your way for one of the little ones, you are faithful. When you look at your position as a way to serve, you are faithful. The Lord knows your heart and will bless you for your faithfulness in the classroom. It reminds me of a scripture we could all memorize so that we can bring it to mind on the hardest of days - Colossians 3:22-24 -Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.  Please remember that whatever you do at school, you are working for the LORD!

Dear Lord,

Thank you so much for the encouragement of "Well done!" Lord, we need help being a good steward so that we may be faithful to the work you have purposed us to do. Show us Lord how to be faithful in the little things and prompt us through Your Good Spirit when we are forgetful. You are the Rewarder, the Blesser and the God Who is gracious to us now and into eternity. We praise You Great King in the awesome Name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayerfully yours,
